VIDEO PREMIERE: Neale Eckstein "Like a Poem Needs a Rhyme"

For years Neale Eckstein had a career as a pediatric dentist while pursuing a passion for music on the side. That included hosting the Fox Run house concerts and attending numerous folk conferences and festivals, where he displayed his brilliance as a photographer.

That led him to set up the Fox Run Studio in his house, where he could bring together world class artists for audio and video recording sessions. In particular, a core of favorites (Matt Nakoa, Eric Schwartz, Jagoda, and the late, lamented Tom Prasada-Rao) became known as the Fox Run Five. All of this in his spare time!

Upon retiring from his dental practice anticipating his 75th birthday, Neale realized it was about time to record a solo album. The result is Never Too Late, which will be released on October 11. co produced by Neale and Matt, with backing from his Fox Run Five compadres and others. The first single is "Like a Poem Needs a Rhyme," featuring vocals by the great Austin singer, Bettysoo. The New Folk Initiative is pleased to share an exclusive video of the song.
