On Your Radar - September 10, 2019
A roots-infused, contemporary Folk/Americana duo from Massachusetts, Crowes Pasture performs original music and eye-opening covers that reflect a mutual passion, sense of discovery and celebration of life. Their tightly blended vocal harmonies are mixed with an expressive instrumental style that is best described as a "banjo-guitar romance.” The title track of their latest CD “Slow It Down,” debuted at #1 on the International Folk DJ Charts, with the album landing at #5 for June 2019.

Alberta's Scott Cook is one of the hardest-working DIY troubadours on the road today, averaging over 150 shows and a dozen festivals every year since 2007, including both the Lounge Stage and Emerging Artists Showcase at this year’s Falcon Ridge. He's currently touring in support of his sixth studio album, Further Down the Line, which earned Cook his second Canadian Folk Music Award nomination. All the hard miles notwithstanding, he still believes that songs can change your life, and your life can change the world.

If folk, roots, and Americana were on a Venn diagram, Grace Morrison would be squarely in the center. 2019 has been a breakthrough year for Grace as she was selected to be an Official Showcase performer at the Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (TN), named a finalist in the Wildflower (TX) Festival performing singer-songwriter contest, and selected to perform in the Emerging Artist Showcase at Falcon Ridge. Her album “Reasons" was nominated as Roots Album of the Year at the 2019 New England Music Awards.
