Sunday Supper: 10/10/21

"How terribly strange to be 70," Paul Simon wrote on "Old Friends." This week as he hits the Big 8-0 the "Sunday Supper" recalls "The Afterlife" and other sardonic songs he's written. We also toast John Prine, who would've been 75 today, with goofy visions of heaven and his burial requests.

We also preview some of the artists on next Saturday's Hudson West Festival in Jersey City and Tuesday's "On Your Radar" at Rockwood Music Hall with Us! (the trio formed by Amy Soucy, Judy Kass, and Glen Roethel), Dan Whitener, and Lindsay Whiteman.

Before the time gets slip sliding away, make sure to join me from 5-6 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org or anytime in the Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app, or the timeless smart speaker of your choice.
