Sunday Supper: 01/02/22
Twenty-five years ago Christine Lavin debuted a new program, "Sunday Breakfast," on WFUV. Three months later, squeezed by her regular performing schedule, she gave it up, and I inherited it. This week on "Sunday Supper" I'll celebrate the 70th birthday of an indefatigable songwriter, videographer, and champion of emerging artists, as well as my close friend.
The show will have an abundance of woman power, with new releases by Anais Mitchell, Eliza Gilkyson, Jennifer Cutting, Jaspar Lepak, and Britney Spencer (singing a James Brown cover on Jason Isbell's Georgia Blue album). I'll also have Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jake Shimabukuro collaborating with Willie Nelson, and Willie's son Lukas Nelson covering George Harrison.
Ring in the new today from 5-6 p.m. at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org or anytime in the WFUV Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app or the timeless smart speaker of your choice.
