Sunday Supper: 01/01/23

January is named for the two-faced Roman god Janus. So while this week's"Sunday Supper" ushers in the New Year with songs by Slaid Cleaves, Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison, the Copper Ponies, and Herdman, Hills & Mangsen, it also looks back to my favorite songs of 2022 by the likes of John McCutcheon, Tom Paxton, Amy Correia, Mary Gauthier, Allison Russell, Jean Rohe, and James Keelaghan.

One of my top songs was by my favorite musical discovery of the year: Jake Blount, the Rhode Island-based artist who breathes new life into traditional spirituals.
