Sunday Supper: 04/17/22

Passover and Easter are religious symbols of triumph, yet we have to weigh that joy against the horrifying events in Ukraine. This week's "Sunday Supper" offers some songs of compassion and peace, including John Lennon, Indigo Girls, the Byrds, and a new one co-written by John McCutcheon and Tom Paxton, "Ukrainian Now."

Another noteworthy new release is Amy Speace's deeply personal Tucson, drawing on her experience of date rape in college. We'll also hear new music from Martyn Joseph, Abbie Gardner, Pete Mancini, and Erin Rae, as well as favorites from Patty Griffin, Mavis Staples, Bruce Springsteen, Sarah Vaughan, and Paul Kantner.

Imagine all the people sharing all the world from 5-6 p.m. at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org or anytime in the WFUV Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app, or the peace-loving smart speaker of your choice.
