Sunday Supper: 01/28/24

This week's "Sunday Supper" is a rebroadcast of February 26, 2023, celebrating the birth anniversaries of two outstanding, but very different guitarists. The youngest Beatle, George Harrison, would've turned 80 that weekend. I share some a bunch of his best songs, both with the Fab Four and as a solo artist (including covers by Sheryl Crow, Roger McGuinn, and Bettye LaVette). Meanwhile, producer Jeremy Rainer supplies a set of Doc Watson, the influential fingerstyle guitarist from North Carolina, in honor of his centenary.

Elsewhere in the program, there are new releases by Iris DeMent, Ben Bedford, Reggie Garrett, Carol Crittenden, plus favorites from Tom Paxton, Joni Mitchell, and David Roth, among others.

Enjoy this "Sunday Supper"encore between 4-6 p.m. EST at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org, or anytime on-demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, or the fingerpicking smart speaker of your choice.
