Sunday Supper: 06/16/24

You can call them Ray. This week's "Sunday Supper" toasts a couple of birthday boys named Ray (though 30 years apart) - Ray Davies and Ray LaMontagne.  I'll also celebrate Father's Day, of course, with songs about fathers by both men and women and introduce three new releases by the daughters of musical dads (Miranda Hardy, Grace Pettis, and the Chapin Sisters).

Other new releases in the mix include T Bone Burnett and John Leventhal, both featuring vocals by Rosanne Cash (herself the daughter of a musical dad). And being a theater maven, I'll get ready for the Tony Awards tonight with selections from the acclaimed revival of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along and Suffs, Shaina Taub's uplifting musical about the suffragists.

Make room for the music between 4:00-6:00 pm EDT at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org, as well as on demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, or the family-centric smart speaker of your choice.
