Sunday Supper: 08/18/24

In between the Olympics and the Democratic convention, "Sunday Supper" opens this week with odes to joy by Lucinda Williams, Josh Ritter, Stevie Wonder, Buskin & Batteau, and others. To quench your musical thirst, I'll proffer tasty libations by Sarah Jarosz, The Eagles, Blake Shelton, Rupert Holmes, and the patron saint of summer good times, Jimmy Buffett.

We'll introduce you to new music by Guy Davis (The Legend of Sugarbelly), Shemekia Copeland (Blame It On Eve), and Tim O'Brien and Della Mae covering Tom Paxton, bluegrass-style. And we'll honor the 55th anniversary of Woodstock with a massive mashup of multiple versions of Joni Mitchell's classic.

Enjoy an extended musical cocktail hour from 4:00-6:00 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org, on-demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, or the joyful smart speaker of your choice.
