Ah, yes, it's St. Patrick's Day, and I'll join my Celtic colleagues with a few (sometimes unconventional) Irish favorites on Sunday Supper. We also celebrate March 17 for a couple of significant birthdays. Native New Yorker John Sebastian, one of the architects of folk-rock turns 75 on that day, so we'll have a set in his honor. And we'll give a nod to the great Nat King Cole to acknowledge his centenary.
We'll check out a new release by Luther Dickinson (of North Mississippi Allstars fame) called Sisters of the Strawberry Moon, featuring female vocalists such as Amy Helm. And we'll squeeze in a couple of compelling songs about immigration by Roger Street Friedman and Monica Rizzio, both joined by notable guests.
Join me from 5-6 pm, and if the hour slips by, remember you can catch the show in the archives at wfuv.org for two weeks.
