Sunday Supper: 09/08/19

This week’s "Sunday Supper" will collect a handful of songs that remind us of  9/11, including Sharon Goldman's gorgeous "Tuesday Morning Sun." In recalling the collapse of the Twin Towers, the Massachusetts duo, Crowes Pasture, invoke Philippe Petit's daring 1974 tightrope walk in their song, "High Wire." We'll hear that, along with selections by Tuesday's other On Your Radar performers, Grace Morrison and Scott Cook.

We'll give a nod to a couple of late-summer festivals - Hudson West in Jersey City (starring Mary Gauthier, Vance Gilbert, and others) and Outlaw Country at Forest Hills Stadium (starring Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, et al.) - and we'll wrap up with a couple of Long Island singer-songwriters, Joe Iadanza and Matt Marshak.

As with Philippe Petit, it's all a question of balance. Join me from 5:00-6:00 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and streaming at wfuv.org, including the Weekend Archives (easily abetted by Alexa).
