Sunday Supper: 05/10/20

We can use plenty to lift our spirits in these trying times, and this week's "Sunday Supper" is happy to oblige. For starters, we toast Stevie Wonder's 70th birthday on Wednesday with a set of his upbeat tunes. Then we celebrate Mother's Day with a medley of mom music by Dar Williams, Laura Nyro, Grace Morrison, and a special unreleased song by Ina May Wool.

Some local heroes offer their musical contributions to coronavirus relief. Chicks With Dip, a songwriting workshop and support group, collaborated on a stunning shelter-at-home video of "What a Wonderful World," which you'll be able to hear; Stuart Markus of Gathering Time supplies an original song for the moment, "Cold, Gray Spring"; and Roger Street Friedman asks about the choices we'll make in "Rise."

Fill a glass with whatever works for you and join me from 5-6 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org or on demand in the WFUV Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app or the feel-good smart speaker of your choice.
