Sunday Supper: 05/17/20
In times of crisis songwriters respond the best way they know how - by writing songs. This week's "Sunday Supper" will share some of the best I've received. There's Jackson Browne's "A Little Soon to Say," Danny Schmidt's "A Prayer for the Soon," and Chris Trapper's "Make It Through." An international collaboration among Guy Davis in NYC, Katleen Scheir in Belgium, and Fabrizio Poggi in Italy on "We Shall Overcome" puts the civil rights anthem in a new light.
Alison Krauss and David Bromberg invoke the power of musical prayer, while The Mammals, Rachael Garlin, Claudia Nygaard, Gabrielle Louise, and Sarah Siskind, supply some fine new releases. And for a finale, we'll have a brief shout-out to Pete Townshend's 75th birthday.
