Sunday Supper: 07/26/20

You say "sultry summer weather" and I say "Sunny Afternoon" by the Kinks. I'll play that classic on this week's "Sunday Supper" and pair it with "Pleasant Afternoon" by Rufus Wainwright, whose voice and songs are as strong as ever on his new album, Unfollow the Rules. The same could be said for Indigo GirlsLook Long and The ChicksGaslighter comeback, their first album in 14 years.

We'll also have new releases from newcomers Kim Moberg, Emma Swift, and Hayley Sabella and music for the quarantine from Crowes Pasture and David Berkeley, who escaped from a sojourn in Spain just before everything shut down. And with the legacy of John Lewis alive in our hearts, Sally Rogers and Claudia Schmidt pay tribute to the March on Selma with "Still on the Bridge."

While you sip your ice cold beer or other beverage, we'll help you sail away on a musical voyage from 5-6 p.m EDT at  90.7 FM and wfuv.org or on demand anytime in the WFUV Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app or your refreshing smart speaker.
