Sunday Supper: 12/04/22
This week's "Sunday Supper" offers posthumous toasts to three favorite artists whose birthdays would've been this week: pioneer of Appalachian music Jean Ritchie (100), fellow Long Islander and activist Harry Chapin (80), and son of South Gregg Allman (75).
It won't simply be looking back, though. I'll have a brand-new environmental song, "Love Earth," by Neil Young & Crazy Horse, a couple of new groups with animal names (The Deer's Cry and Dead Horses), and songs about racial injustice by Peter Mulvey and Windborne, plus a great Memphis Slim blues tune, and, for good measure, a rare cover by Lucius in honor of their performance this Tuesday at Holiday Cheer for FUV.
Love earth and all kinds of music from 5-6 pm EST at 90.7 FM and streaming online, as well as on demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app or the down-to-earth smart speaker of your choice.
