Sunday Supper; 06/26/22

Steve Earle has found a home in New York City, but part of his heart is in Texas. After releasing tributes to Texas songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he's completed the trilogy with Jerry Jeff, in honor of Jerry Jeff Walker. I'll have a track on today's "Sunday Supper," along with another country outlaw, Willie Nelson covering Leonard Cohen.

The new releases include another classic Cohen cover by pianist George Winston, a funky track by Long Island's Christine Sweeney, and a yet-to-be released tune by Meg Braun. I'll celebrate the start of summer with songs by Josh Rouse, The Pentangle, and Gordon Lightfoot and offer a very personal celebration with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Judy Collins, and Neil Young.

Join the festivities from 5-6 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org, or anytime in the Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app, or the champagne-soaked smart speaker of your choice.
