Sunday Supper: 07/03/22

On this 4th of July weekend  "Sunday Supper" presents patriotism with a twist. The Nields and Jean Rohe offer alternative anthems, while a host of artists supply new songs with truths about our society right now. They include Wilco (doing "Cruel Country," the title track of their strong double album), Johnsmith, Lilli Lewis, Crys Matthews,  Byrd & Street, and Max Ferguson.

Roger McGuinn, James Lee Baker, Simon & Garfunkel, Willie Nile, and Steve Forbert take us metaphorically and musically in search of America. Finally, Morley unveils a cover of Minnie Riperton that's part of her forthcoming album, Les Fleurs.

Hold the fireworks from 5-6 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org or on demand in the WFUV Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app, or the star-spangled smart speaker of your choice.
