Sunday Supper: 08/14/22

The elegant Americana musician Valerie June is releasing a collection of covers this month, Under Cover. One track is her soulful take on Gillian Welch's and David Rawlings' "Look at Miss Ohio," which I'll be playing on this week's "Sunday Supper." Gillian and David are also represented with a track from the new John Anderson tribute album, produced by Dan Auerbach and David Ferguson.

I'll have a toast to another John, the versatile and prolific folksinger John McCutcheon, who turns 70 today. I'll share a track from the new Happy Traum album, featuring John Sebastian and Tony Trischka, and a reconstituted Spoonful tune devised by Sebastian and Arlen Roth. Other new releases include Jean Rohe, Lucy Kaplansky, and Pharis & Jason Romero and other songs worthy of your attention by the Youngbloods, Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto, Dan Bern, Arlon Bennett, and Colleen Kattau.
