Sunday Supper: 11/5/23
Aside from an introductory set about peace, this week's "Sunday Supper" is Wall-to-Wall Joni Mitchell, in honor of her 80th birthday on Tuesday. There's no way, even in two hours, to do justice to her courage and overarching creativity, but I'll do my best to include all sides now and then.
I'll have covers from old faves like Judy Collins, Bonnie Raitt, David Crosby, and Madeleine Peyroux, relatively younger artists like Carolann Solebello, Heather Maloney, Alice Howe, and The Joni Project, artists who extend the range like Herbie Hancock and Jessica Molaskey, and, of course, Joni performances all the way from a 1967 radio show to the 2022 Newport Folk Festival (with her BFF Brandi Carlile),
A case of Joni, and then some, from 4:00-6:00 pm EST at 90.7 FM and streaming online, as well as on-demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, or the inspirational smart speaker of your choice.
