Sunday Supper: 07/16/23

Before he took the name Yusuf, Cat Stevens had an amazing string of hit records through the '70s. On this week's "Sunday Supper," as he approaches his 75th birthday, we dip back into two treasures, Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat, for original songs and covers by Susan Werner, Jimmy Cliff, David Broza, and 10,000 Maniacs.

Not content to simply dwell on the past, I'll have new music from Ellis Paul, Vance Gilbert, Rachael Sage, Nefesh Mountain, Queen Esther, Karyn Oliver, and more. And I'll address the nationwide heat wave with songs that ask (with help from Carla Ulbrich), "(Is It) Hot Enough for Ya?"

Cool off with Cat and the music between 4-6 p.m. at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org, or on-demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV, or the heat-resistant smart speaker of your choice.
