Sunday Supper: 08/06/23
This week's "Sunday Supper" welcomes good friend Vance Gilbert for a session in Studio A. Among other things, we discuss his pioneering role as a Black folk artist, the effect of opening for Paul Reiser as a performer, and the influence of John Prine as a writer.
In addition, I'll have a recap of some highlights of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and new releases by Ellis Paul, Jorma Kaukonen, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, and a triple shot of Brandi Carlile - performing "Closer to Fine" with her wife Catherine, a duet with Brandi Clark, and joining Joni Mitchell on the "Joni Jam" at Newport that's just been released as an album.
A case of excellent musical spirits awaits you between 4-6 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org, as well as in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, or the classy smart speaker of your choice.
