Sunday Supper: 03/03/24

Townes Van Zandt, though cursed by drug and alcohol addiction and bipolar disorder, managed to create a timeless body of work before his death in 1997 at the age of 52. This week's "Sunday Supper" toasts Townes's 80th birth anniversary with his songs recorded by Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, and Lyle Lovett, and others.

I'll also have diverse highlights of the International Folk Alliance conference by Susan Werner, Connie Kaldor, Alice Howe & Freebo, Joachim Cooder, Mouths of Babes, and Dario Acosta Teich, and some concert tips tips by Ricky Stein, Cricket Blue, Karan Casey, and Valerie June.

Listen for the sake of the song from 4:00-6:00 p.m.EST at 90.7 FM and streaming online, as well as on-demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, or the global smart speaker of your choice.
