Sunday Supper: 12/6/20

When Dar Williams, Richard Shindell, and Lucy Kaplansky formed the "folk supergroup" Cry Cry Cry in 1998, one of their first concerts was for WFUV members. After touring for a year, they went back to their solo careers, much to the chagrin of their fans. Almost 20 years later, they reunited at the 2017 Clearwater Festival. Their performance went so well, they did a reunion tour (including The Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington and Tarrytown Music Hall), wrapping up in April, 2018, at Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, CA. That final concert was recorded and has just been released as a beautiful album, Live @ The Freight, with proceeds to benefit small music venues through the Live Music Society. I'm delighted to give you a taste on this week's "Sunday Supper."

That's just one highlight of the show. I'll also have a preview of Tuesday's livestreamed "On Your Radar" with songs by The Early Risers, Mike Glick, and Josie Bello, a toast to Joan Armatrading's 70th birthday, and a medley of songs in memory of John Lennon's, who left us 40 years ago this Tuesday.

Imagine a life without music. That won't happen on Sunday between 5-6 p.m. EST at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org or on demand in the Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app, or the all-knowing smart speaker of your choice.
