Sunday Supper: 01/10/21

Joan Baez celebrates her 80th birthday this weekend. Her angelic voice earned her the nickname of the "Folk Madonna" in the early '60s, but she's resisted trite labels, with her interest in social causes and all kinds of music. This week's "Sunday Supper" will toast her with a set of live performances covering almost 60 years. We'll also hear from Steve Earle, who produced one of Joan's best recent albums and has released a tribute to his late son, Justin Townes Earle.

Also on tap: new music from Cosy Sheridan, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, Low Lily, and Ryanhood, along with a preview of Tuesday's "On Your Radar" with the Bright Siders (featuring Kristen Andreassen), Shanna in a Dress, and Izzy Heltai. And for a change of pace, George Harrison, Bruce Springsteen, and Frank Sinatra.

You'll have to figure out how it all fits together between 5-6 p.m. EST or anytime on demand in the WFUV Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app or the ever-alert smart speaker of your choice.
