Sunday Supper: 06/20/21

On June 22, 1971, Joni Mitchell released an album that was transformative - for her career and the artists and music lovers who heard it - Blue. This week's "Sunday Supper" celebrates the 50th anniversary of the album Rolling Stone ranked #3 of all time with a half-dozen covers by Herbie Hancock, Phoebe Snow, Carolann Solebello, and others.

It's also Father's Day, which brings back memories of dads who are no longer with us. I'll have songs for the occasion from Amy Speace, Rod Abernethy, Rob Siegel, and the Wainwright siblings, Loudon and Sloan. And looking ahead a week, I'll have a preview of a special outdoor "On Your Radar" with Robinson & Rohe and Roger Street Friedman at the Landmark on Main Street on June 27.

Drink up, we've got a case of Joni and more between 5-6 p.m. ET at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org or anytime on demand in the WFUV Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app or the bitter and sweet smart speaker of your choice.
