Sunday Supper: 11/19/23

With Thanksgiving on the way, "Sunday Supper" is a four-course feast this week. We'll have songs for the holiday from Loudon Wainwright, Jess Klein, Roger Street Friedman, and more. The day before Thanksgiving, November 22, is the 60th anniversary of the day John F. Kennedy was shot. We'll never forget it, nor will Phil Ochs, Christine Lavin, Harry Belafonte, and The Byrds.

November 22 is also the day Willie Nile's playing City Winery, prompting a set chosen by producer Jeremy Rainer. In addition to new releases by Van Morrison, Joan Osborne, and boygenius, I'll have a recap of the NERFA conference where I enjoyed multiple music discoveries and was moved beyond measure by receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.

It's a cornucopia from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at 90.7 FM and wfuv.org, as well as on-demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app or the always-grateful smart speaker of your choice.
