Sunday Supper: 07/07/24

At the age of 83, folk troubadour Tom Rush is at the top of his game. "Sunday Supper" has proof with the session he and sideman/producer extraordinaire Matt Nakoa did in Studio A, which you can hear this week. Fellow octogenarian, the ageless Mavis Staples turns 85 this week. I'll offer a musical toast to that and another birthday: contemporary folk pioneer (and lifelong New Yorker) Suzanne Vega's 65th.

I'll have a preview of Tuesday's "On Your Radar" at the Bitter End with Stacia Thiel, ARAS (Adriene Reju and Andy Stack), and George Mallas, and I'll squeeze in new releases by the Felice Brothers, Mouths of Babes, and Zoe Fitzgerald Carter.

On your radar and on your radio from 4:00-6:00 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and wfyv.org, plus on-demand in the WFUV Archives, on the WFUV app, or the age-appropriate smart speaker of your choice.
